John and Liz Sharpe have run this little site on their farm at All Cannings since 2012, and little is the word: three quarters of an acre of level grass with room for ten tents and a handful of caravans and motorhomes. The Vale of Pewsey rolls away in every direction, and the farm's alpacas, pigs, quail and free-ranging hens are the resident entertainment, with the hens' eggs on sale every morning.
This is proper back-to-basics camping, and honest about it. There are no showers and no electric hook-ups; instead you get a toilet block with hot-water sinks and phone charging, a central water point, and firepits and barbecues cheerfully allowed. Pitches cost £12 to £15 a night with dogs free on leads, which makes it one of the cheapest stays in this guide. The site is Camping and Caravanning Club certificated and runs from April to the end of September.
